Celtic Album of the Year Winner - 2014 by Celtic Music Radio!
This album has proven to be one of the best Celtic music productions today.
About the title track: A Thousand Curses Upon Love is the translation of the Scottish Gaelic song 'Mile Marphbhaisg Air A’Ghaol'; nominated by Celtic music radio as 'traditional song of the year' in 2014 . The track is a traditional ‘waulking’ song from the West Highlands of Scotland. Women who worked with tweed would sing during the process. The strong beat is the most important feature in a typical ‘waulking’ song and kept in tact for this arrangement. The mix of modern sounds and traditional instrumentation, on fiddle and bodhran, updated this piece for a modern mix. Your feet will be tapping!
